About John Charles Tatton
John Charles Tatton (1818 - 1899), son of William Tatton, was a hat maker in Salt Lake City, Utah Territory in the early 1860s. Born on 4 August 1818 in England, he died at the age of 70 on 4 March 1889 at Manti, Utah Territory. He married Caroline Webb, daughter of Ralph Webb and Miss Akenbottom, , who was born 5 January 1820. They came to Utah in October 1853. John Charles Tatton served in Capt William Bench's Company of the Utah Territorial Militia in the Black Hawk War.
