On May 27, 1890, John arrived at Ellis Island ready to begin his new life. The first leg of his adventure was his passage on the Livorno. The next would include getting his land legs, clearing immigration, and finding work. English would slowly come. Hard work, though, was what he was prepared to do to create a successful life. John is celebrated as an AMERICAN IMMIGRANT ANCESTOR.

NOTE: The SPELLING OF JOHN's NAME (and his family's) was changed from the cemetery record TuoriEniemi (letter emphasis added) to Tuoriniemi. This matches their death records and all other extended family in Michigan.
