John Wheeler was born in Concord on February 18, 1655, the fourth child of Thomas Wheeler and Sarah Meriam. John lived his entire life in Concord. He married Sarah Stearns, the daughter of his step mother, on December 27, 1678. His wife was the daughter of Sarah Beers and Isaac Stearns. After the deaths of Sarah's husband Isaac, and Thomas' first wife Sarah, Thomas married Sarah Beers Stearns in 1677.
John and Sarah had seven children, all born in Concord. In the vital records of Concord, John was called "Deacon", so he must have been active in the church. Sarah died in Concord in December, 1727. John died on December 1, 1736. John may have had a second wife, also named Sarah, who outlived him and died April 18, 1741.
It has been supposed that John was buried in the Old Hill Cemetery in Concord, but recently, the cemetery records and the cemetery itself was searched, and no grave or record was found.
