One pedigree published by WikiTree claims that John Wilson, here treated, is the son of Sir Mathew Wilson and his wife Margaret Gilmour, although proof of relationship is not provided. WikiTree It should be noticed, however, that John Wilson, here treated, who was a resident of Dunfermline in Fife, is not the same person as Master John Wilson, Burgess and Freeman of Glasgow who was a resident of Glasgow in Lanarkshire. It is true that Master John is the son of Matthew Wilson, Burgess of Glasgow and his wife Katherine Gilmour but neither he or his father are known to have had a connection with Dunfermline in Fife.
