Farmington Aprill the 18: 1692: The last will & testament of John Woodrof senr as followeth.

I being weak in body yet sownd in understanding yet not knowing what a change God may make upon me my desire is to commit my spirit to God that gave it believing that when soule & body shall part that the angells will convey my soule into the armes of my Merciful redeemer where I shall have rest from Sin & Sorow & Injoy pleasures for ever more my desire is to setle that little worldly Estate that God hath given me in som order 1. my will is that all my lawful debts be duely payd. 2: I give to my son Joh Woodrough my house & Homstead with all its apurtenances onely I give to my deare & loving wife a convenient room in my house & apart of my Barn & Homelott as much as shall be for her conveniency so long as she shall beare the name Woodroffe- 3: I give unto my (sons) John Woodroffe & Joseph Woodroffe all the land in the great meadow I give to my son John all my land which lyeth on the south side of my great bottom which lyeth on the North side of a little peice of plowing land which I had in exchang of Ensigne Thomas Heart which lyne is to run from the East end Thomas Hearts land between the foresaid grassland & little peice of plowing land down eastward to the rownd Hill shall be the divideing line between my Two sons & all my land on the Northward side of this divideing lyne I give to my son Joseph Woodroffe 5. I give to my son John Woodroffe my east divission layd out against Wethersfield Bownds: 6: I give to my grandson John roote my east division of upland layd out against Hartford bowndes- 7. I give to my son Joseph Woodroffe Two acres of land in the little meadow & forty or fifty acres in any of my other out lands where he shall choose it & then the rest of my out lands to be divided between my Two Sons John & Joseph. Onely my fower acres of land which I bought of Jonathan Smith my will is that it shall be sold for the payment of some on my debts 8: I give to my deare and lovening wife my feather bed with the furniture belonging to it & my great ketle & my Iron pott & my great skillet & as much of my other houshold stuffe as is necessary dureing the time of her widow hood & my will is that my wife shall have the benifit of my son Josephs land till he comes of age & then my sons John & my son Joseph shall beare an equall proportion each with the other for the Honorable mayntenance of their mother If she remayn a widow & I give to my wife to give to whom she pleases a cowe. 9. I give to my 4 daughters namely Hanna & febee & Marget & Abigale all my personall Estate & my will is that my daughter Hannah & my daughter Pheebe shall receive their portions presently & be sett at liberty & my Two Youngest daughters Margaret & abigaile shall receive their portions at eighteen years of age or at the day of marriage 10: my will is that my whole estate reall & personall shall bear an equall proportion in the payment of my Just debts according to valuation in Inventory my will is tht my daughter Mary roote shall have five pownd out of my Estate. I do allso make my Two sons John & Joseph whole & sole Executors to all my estate John Woodroffe witnesses John Orton Thomas Orten

I doe also desire & request my loveing Brother Samuel Woodroff & my cousin John Orton to be over seers to this my will.

John Orton & Thomas Orton personally appeared & gave oath to the within written that it is the will of John Woodroff deceassed & signed with his own hand before me Thomas Heart Commissioner Farmington May the 23.1692. I give to my loveing wife all the wareing Lining in the house excepting my childrens without any farder prizell
