Biography

Son of William Worth and Sarah Macy Worth. He married, first, on Sep 22,1684 at Nantucket, Miriam Gardner, second, on Sep 1,1704 as her third husband, Mrs. Ann (Platts) Clay Sarson. He then married, third, on Dec 22,1724 at Edgartown, as her second husband, Mrs. Dorcas (Smith) Hawes.

John went to Edgartown, Martha's vineyard about 1700, and lived there until his death in 1732. He was a prominent and respected citizen and an innkeeper, and in 1713 was appointed Assoc. Justice of the County Court. His will of Dec 7, 1730 was probated Mar 7, 1732. He married 2nd Mrs. Ann (Platts)Clay Sarson Sep. 1, 1704, She died in June of 1724, and he married 3rd Mrs Dorcas (Smith) Hawes 22 Dec 1724 (widow of Benjamin Hawes, she died Aug 1730 " from "The Worths of Nantucket" by Carol Clark Johnson 1970.
