He died on January 8, 1881 in Princes Gate,, Westminster,, London,, England and was buried in 1891 in Brompton Cem,, London, , London,, England.

    Colonel John St. Vincent Saumarez, 3rd Baron de Saumarez was born on 28 May 1806.

He was the son of Admiral James Saumarez, 1st Baron de Saumarez and Martha Le Marchant.

He married, firstly, Caroline Esther Rhodes, daughter of William Rhodes, on 2 June 1838.3 

He married, secondly, Margaret Antoinette Northey, daughter of William Richard Hopkyns Northey, on 13 April 1850.

He died on 8 January 1881 at age 74.

    Colonel John St. Vincent Saumarez, 3rd Baron de Saumarez succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Saumarez, in the Island of Guernsey [U.K., 1801] on 9 April 1863.
