"John Montanye, often called Delamontagne, was born 1655 in Amsterdam, became a master cooper in New York, married in New York September 4, 1678, Annetie, daughter of Joseph Waldron. He married secondly, September 8, 1701, a widow, Elizabeth, daughter of Frederick A. Bloom. Mr. Montanye lived on Broadway...From his 22nd year a church member, he was long the sexton, both in the fort and in Garden Street; and as an elder, was named in the charter granted the Colonial Dutch Church, May 11, 1696. He died July 12, 1730, in his 74th year. "

Note: Annetie Waldron died before 1700. Jan de la Montagne married by license on 8 September 1701 Libe or Lysbeth Bloem, daughter of Frederick Arentszen Bloem and Grietie Pieters. She was a widow with three children, while Jan had nine children with Annetie Waldron. Jan and Libe lived together for almost thirty years but had no children together. Jan died on 12 July 1730 and Libe died on 16 December 1747.
