Jonathan Chapin was born September 23, 1688 [2] at Springfield. [3] [2] [4] He had a brother named Jonathan Chapin who was born February 20, 1685 [5] and died March 1,1685/6. [6]
He married Elizabeth Burt, [7] [3] according to "The Chapin Book of Genealogical Data", [2] daughter of Jonathan and Lydia (Dumbleton) Burt of Longmeadow. Elizabeth was born February 23, 1689. [2]
Children [2] (since the marriage to Elizabeth Burt is now unsure, makes these children suspect. more research is needed on marriage and children)
- Jonathan Chapin was born July 8, 1711,[3] and died November 12, 1763.
- Elizabeth was born July 13, 1714.[3] She was still living on November 30, 1756 when her father's will was made.[2]She married Mr. Burt of Longmeadow.[8]
- Daniel was born March 5, 1717.[3] He was supposedly taken prisoner by Spaniards.
- Eunice Chapin was born February 11, 1719 and died November 1, 1780[2] in North Bolton, CT. She married David Dorchester.[8]
- Ezekiel was born March 10, 1721,[3] and died April 1, 1721.[3]
- Zerviah (Zeruiah) was born April 27, 1722,Zeruiah Chapin and died January 5, 1812.[2]She married Samuel Pease III of Enfield, CT.[8]
