Jonas Bogardus was baptized on 4 January 1643 at Reformed Dutch Church, New Amsterdam, sponsors olof Strephenszen Van Courtlt, Mr. Gysbert opten dyck, Tryntje Jonas, Sara Roelofs. Everardus Bogardus; witnesses: olof Stephenszen Van Courtlt, Mr. Gysbert opten dyck, Tryntje Jonas, Sara Roelofs.
He was living 9 Mar 1670/71 when he joined with his brother Willem Bogardus in cinveying the "Domine's Bouwerie" to Governor Francis Lovelace. He is said to have died not married.

He died after 11 May 1689.
