In another application, filed 20 February 1840 in Morgan County, Tennessee, Anna Lawson states the following:

That she was the wife of John Lawson and married him in 1775.

That John's brother, Randolph Lawson, was two year younger than John.

That she was a cousin to John and Randolph Lawson and that her maiden name was Lawson.
