Lived to the extraordinary age of 100 years, 8 months, 5 days...thus living in 3 centuries.

He possessed uncommon learning for his time, was an accurate surveyor,an excellent penman,owing to which circumstance the early records of the town appear in remarkably fine shape.

He was the first parish or town clerk, which office he held for many years; one of the first Deacons of the Congregational Church, resigning Oct 2, 1782.

He was much employed in public business,in surveying, laying out townships, etc.

Selectman 1750, 1755. 1758 and 1764. He was a moderator in Westboro in 1758 and 1764.

A short time after he was 100 years old, he rode horseback from his house to a militia review, near the middle of town, a distance of 3 miles, without fatigue.
