Lived in Kremsier, Moravia (today, Kroměříž, Zlínský, Czech Republic) after spending several years in Nikolsburg (Mikulov). He died by suicide in early adulthood. His wife had died before him, and he left behind four orphaned children. They were raised by his brother, Rabbi Markus Knopfelmacher (1764-1826) of Holesov. Markus' eldest son, Emanuel Knopfelmacher (1787-1841), also assisted in their upbringing.
