Josef Payne (1952 - 2023)

Brief overview:

Josef (Joseph) (71 or 72), who lived on a farm in Perdekop, outside of Standerton, was found tied up with cable ties and with a gunshot wound to his abdomen, on 5th June 2023. A neighbour found Josef's body at around 11h00 after a farm worker became concerned that he had not come out of his house.

It appears that the suspect/s gained access to the house via the garage.

This is a developing story and exactly what transpired is unclear, but it appears that the attackers searched the home. The safe was found open and three computers a firearm and ammunition were found at the scene.

Police are investigating but there have been no arrests.
