    • NOTE: These sources differ from U.S., Find a Grave® Index, which shows he was buried in "Thirty Mile Island Plantation Burial Yard", Haddam. It shows photos of a legible headstone; so, did the volunteer err when inputting the burial place connected to the headstone? Hmm...

  • “Joseph was an original proprietor in Hartford as early as 1639, and his son JOSEPH was old enough to have been an original proprietor at Haddam, in 1668. JOSEPH ARNOLD owned as many as twelve parcels of land at Thirty Miles Island.”
