Per Quakers Records S/O Joseph Boone 1704-1776 & Catherine Brown Warren 1708-1778 Bothe parents buried @ Exeter Friends Cemetery

JOSEPH BOONE, JR, son of JOSEPH BOONE and CATHERINE WARREN/BROWN, born April 30, 1730 Berks County, PA; died May 10, 1779 Oley, Exeter Co, PA
Married ELIZABETH WARREN, daughter of JACOB WARREN and ANNE (--?--), born 1730 or 1737 possibly in Amity, Philadelphia Co, PA; died unkn KY Married August, 1749 in Berks Co, PA, when both were 19 years old
The name “Warren” was spelled “Warin” in Quaker Meeting Minutes, in Aug, 1749 in Exeter, Berks Co., PA. Elizabeth was pregnant when she was married, and as a result, both were excommunicated from the Quaker Church before the marriage. Writings can be found in Quaker Women’s minutes in Exeter, PA, stating that Catherine repented, but Joseph was stubborn and took longer to repent. The family left the Quaker Church. After Daniel Boone’s first cousin, JOSEPH BOONE, JR, died in Berks County, Pennsylvania, Daniel returned to Pennsylvania persuade his widow ELIZABETH WARIN/WARREN BOONE and several of her children, including their spouses and children if they were married, to move to Kentucky, "To better their condition". JOSEPH BOONE JR’s land was sold in Exeter, PA in 1785, (Commission book 1 page 282).
In the fall of 1785, JACOB, Thomas and Ovid - brothers -started with their families, teams and wagons to the mouth of the Sewickley on the Monongahela and the "wintered;" built a boat, "killed a great quantity of pigeons," and in the spring of 1786 descended the Ohio River unmolested to Limestone (now Maysville) - the three families in one boat. Col. Daniel Boone, the pioneer, then resided at Limestone near the mouth of the Limestone creek. Jacob stayed in Limestone, Thomas and his family went to Butler Co., Ohio and Ovid went to Bourbon Co., KY., then Lexington, KY and finally went to Wayne Co, IN about 1820.
Arrived at Maysville, Mason, KY on May 11, 1786 with their families

Some sources can only confirm that three of the sons, JACOB, Ovid and Thomas, and three daughters, Catherine, Sarah and Hannah actually went to Kentucky. Excerpts from the Quaker records regarding the marriage of JOSEPH BOONE, JR. and ELIZABETH WARIN can be found at “Boone Family Research Association, ‘Boone Pioneer Echo’s” July 1974, page 19.
From Boone Genealogy Records: “The real estate of JOSEPH BOONE JUN. was adjudged by Orphans’ Court of Berks Co. to his son JACOB BOONE and the land was sold to Joseph DeTurk by JACOB and wife MARY for 1000 pounds in 1785. Commission Book 1, page 282, Berks Co., PA. There were 3 other Orphan Court Records in Berks Co., PA concerning the estate of JOSEPH BOONE JR., dated May 14, 1779, May 7, 1783, and June 3, 1782. “
JACOB BOONE helped Daniel Boone lay out the town of Limestone (now Maysville) on the Ohio River in 1786. It was used as a trading post for parties going up and down the river. Jacob was the interpreter between the colonel of the army and the Indian chiefs and warriors. He lived in and ran a tavern on Front Street, which was still standing until it was destroyed by the 1937 Ohio River flood. Jacob Boone is buried in the Old Pioneer Cemetery at the county museum in Maysville. Daniel Boone was Maysville’s first trustee. The General Index to Real Estate #1 Conveyances, City of Maysville, 1794 – 1835 FHL #2111487 shows Jacob bought some lots in town between Limestone St and Cherry Alley on 5th St (formerly called Boone St).
Note: ELIZABETH WARREN BOONE’s parents may have gone to Kentucky before she did, as at least one site shows that her father, JACOB WARREN, died in Garrard Co, KY in February, 1770 at age 67.
JACOB WARREN was the son of JOHN WARREN and his wife, ELIZABETH (maiden name possibly WHITE, born 1672, daughter of JOHN WHITE). He was born around 1703 in Oyster Bay, Nassau Co, NY. JOHN WARREN was the son of RICHARD WARING and LYDIA ACKERLY, and was born in 1672 in Brookhaven, Suffolk Co, NY and died on July 4, 1733 at age 61 in Amity, Philadelphia Co, PA. RICHARD WARING was born in the year 1650 in Nassau, NY and died in 1697 at Oyster Bay, Livingston Co, NY. RICHARD WARING had one other known son, named MICHAEL WARING, who was also born at Oyster Bay, Livingston Co, NY. MICHAEL WARING/WARREN married CATHERINE HINTON/HENTON, daughter of PERCIS BOONE and GEORGE HINTON/HENTON. It’s possibly, and even likely, that the HINTON/HENTON family was in the same group that travelled to Kentucky Territory with ELIZABETH WARREN and her children when they were taken there by DANIEL BOONE. It must be remembered that at that time, the Kentucky Territory belonged to the state of Virginia. RICHARD WARING’s wife, LYDIA ACKERLY was the daughter of ROBERT ACKERLY and his wife, ISABELLE. She was born in 1650 at Brookhaven, Livingston Co, NY and died in NY State, date unknown. LYDIA ACKERLY’s father, ROBERT ACKERLY was born in 1610 at Brookhaven, Livingston Co, NY and died in 1680 at age 70 years in Brookhaven, Livingston Co, NY.
