Joseph Boyce, son of Joseph and Ellenor (Plover) Boyce was baptized in Salem, Massachusetts on 31: 1: 1644. [ March 31, 1644] [1] [2] [3] [4]

Joseph was a tanner and lived in Salem on his father's homestead in Salem. [3]

He married Sarah Meacham at Salem, Massachusetts on 4: 12 mo: 1667 [Feb. 4, 1668]. [1] Sarah was Jeremiah Meacham's daughter and is thought to be a child of his first wife Margaret Prisse. [2]

Sarah's father, Jeremiah Meacham, died in 1695. His estate was divided by agreement June 26, 1696; the heirs being Jeremiah and Isaac Meacham; Sarah, wife of Joseph Boyce; Rebecca, wife of John McCarter; Bethiah, wife of George Hackler; and Hannah Gill widow. [5] [6]

Their children were: Sarah, Joseph, Benjamin, Jonathan, David, and Esther. [3]

In his father Joseph Sr's. will dated 4:9 mo: 1684 (Nov. 4) and proved Feb. 18, 1694/5; he names among others:

grandsons (Boyce children): eldest Joseph, second son Benjamin, third son Johnn...(torn) [7] Joseph Boyce Jr., of Salem, husbandman, released his life interest to his son Joseph Boyce of Salem, tanner, the homestead estate of three and three quarter acres with the houses barn etc. January 9, 1707/8.[8]

Joseph Boyce died between 1709 and 1722. [3] [4]

His widow Sarah survived him.[3] [4]
