[241] JOSEPH CONE, son of Conant Cone [115] and Alice Houghton, b. Princeton, N. J., 1793, m. Mary Cave, dau. of Thomas Cave, of Prince Williams county, Va., Feb. 13, 1817. He was a Baptist minister; was a devoted and untiring pastor, and an instructive and earnest preacher. Being in ill-health in the winter of 1830, and desirous of going to a milder climate, he took passage on board the brig Mary and .Eliza, Capt. Wilson, from New York to St. Augustine, Fla. He d. at sea, Jan. 4, 1830, and was buried at the old Spanish cemetery at St. Augustine. She married 2 Richard Mackie, and d. Aug. 8, 1882, aged 84 years.
