Married, date unknown, Mrs. Ann Margaret Garrett (d aft 1790) widow of Daniel Garrett (d 1761) and he became guardian of 5/6 Garrett children in 1764/65. Thus, marriage date is likely 1762 or '63.
"On 5 Apr. 1765 Joseph petitioned to have a gristmill on the south side of the Yadkin River on Sandy Creek" (Daniel Garrett had made a similar petition in Apr 1761)
Ann Margaret & Joseph appear to have had four daughters together: Barbara, Mary, Margaret & Nancy.
