About Joseph Hartwell
Deacon Joseph Hartwell, son of John and Priscilla (Wright) Hartwell, of Concord, born January 24, 1680-81, married Ruhamah Cutter. He lived at the head of Mystic Pond (then in Charlestown), now in Arlington. From 1732 to 1743, he paid church rates in Woburn; was chosen deacon of Woburn Church, 1736. A large cedar tree has taken root in his grave.
