Joseph Higgins (Jediah, Richard), born about 1702; died at Amwell, N.J. between May 27, 1781 and June 13, 1782. [1]

Joseph Higgins settled at Amwell in Hunterdon County before March 25, 1737, for on that date he secured a loan from the Hunterdon County Loan Office for 24 pounds, which he had paid or cancelled by April 3, 1741, when he secured a second loan on 110 acres for 36 pounds.....

His will is dated May 17, 1782, and was probated June 13, 1782. It names his sons Joshua, Azariah and Jediah and living daughters Ruth Carle, Hannah Rittenhouse (wife of Lot), and Elizabeth Holliday. [3]
