Kuhns, -- Joseph Burkholder, was born Jan. 17, 1882; died of a heart attack Nov. 26, 1955; aged 73 y. 10 m. 9 d. He was the son of the late Christian and Marie (Burkholder) Kuhns. He was a member of the Chambersburg Mennonite Church from his youth. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the late Leah Horst Kuhns, in 1933. Surviving are his wife (Mrs. Amanda Martin Kuhns), 2 sons (Christian H. , Chambersburg, Pa.; and Clarence L., Newville, Pa.), 5 daughters (Mrs. Austin Gable, Thomasville, Pa.; Mrs. Alvan Forry, Hanover, Pa.; Mrs. Alvey Baer, Maugansville, Md.; Mrs. Omar Martin, Chamberburg, Pa.; and Mrs. Henry Bair, Hanover, Pa.), 30 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one brother (Pre. Daniel Kuhns, Chambersburg), one sister (Anna M. Kuhns, Chambersburg). Funeral services were held at the Chambersburg Mennonite Church, Nov. 30, with Aaron Martin, Harold Hunsecker, and Harvey E.
