Joseph Morse m. Jan. 20, 1691, Grace Warren, of Wat. Joseph Morse, Samuel Morse, Samuel Bigelow, and John Bemis, bought, Dec. 25, 1695, of the heirs of John Alcocke, 350 acres bordering upon Marl., known as "the Farm." Joseph settled in the house said to have been built by Alcocke; Samuel built southerly, and Jonathan bought and built upon a tract of land adjoining, so that one garrison would protect all the families.

Joseph d; in Marl., July 11, 1733, aged 66; his wid. d. July 22, 1753. He came to his farm soon after the purchase, in 1695
