Joseph Edwin Rogers

Moved from Golconda to Elmore where he gained his Merit Certificate, thence to Melbourne where he worked for GJColes before moving to Perth in 1930's to manage Selfridges store. Enlisted in RAAF rising to Squadron Leader seeing service in New Guinea. Post war, moved to Yallourn to work at the SEC as a Security Officer before studying accountancy by correspondence and transferring to the Stores Division. Rose to become Supplies Manager. Retired to Newborough then to Cobram shortly before death which followed dementia. Was very active in amateur radio - VK3TO - and was an extremely capable handyman with a wide range of skills. Married to Phoebe Gellard on 26th January 1929 at Highbury Grove Methodist Church, Kew, Victoria.
