and another Jacob Warner was son of Andrew, but whether he was son of Andrew's first wife or second is not known for certain. From the dates of birth of Andrew's children, it seems certain that Jacob was one of the youngest, but whether he was actually son of 2nd wife Esther Selden has not been proved, per "The Descendants of Andrew Warner." In his will, Andrew Warner directs son Jacob to pay "forty shillings annually or yearly to his mother, Easter Werner," but in the next paragraph uses the same language in reference to son Daniel who was a young man at the time of his father's removal to Hadley and was one of the signers of the Hadley agreement. This was likely no more than an affectionate reference. After the death of Esther Warner in March, 1693, a bond was filed in the settlement of her estate by Thomas Selden, Jospeh Selden (sons by ther first marriage) and Jacob Warner in which it is quoted " Sons to Easter Werner alias Selding of Hadly deceased." However, Jacob received nothing from the estate, it being divided among 4 of her children by her first marriage. Jacob may only have been helping his stepbrothers in this task, the son closest in age to his stepmother's children.
He was a Freeman in Hadley 30 May 1690. Jacob's date of death was either 8 Nov. 1711, per tombstone, or 29 Nov. 1711, per Hadley town records and Savage. "The History of Hadley,MA," pg. 588, says that his tombstone read 29 Sept. 1711. His grave is next to Meadow Road in Hadley. He was one of the early settlers on Plot 10, Hadley, the tenants of which were: Andrew Warner, 1663; Andrew and Jacob, 1682; Widow Andrew Warner and Jacob, 1690; Widow Elizabeth Warner and Jacob, 1720 (the son); Jacob, 1731; Orange, Elihu and Oliver, 1770; 1821 and later, other family names. Letters of administration were granted to his widow Elizabeth and son Jacob 18 May 1711 and the inventory was taken 7 Feb. 1712 listing housing and homeland, land in Aqua Vitae and at ye Great Meadow, together with an extensive list of article, the total valued at 359 pounds, 5.4. Son Jacob received a double portion and the other children received 29 pounds, 11 each (Northampton probate records, 3:255, 267, etc.)
