Mrs. Stephenson Succumbs at 84
Services for Mrs. Josephine Hattersley Stephenson, 84, who died Tuesday in her home, 34 Mae Drive, Yardville Heights, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Saul Memorial Home, 1740 Greenwood Avenue. The Rev. Gulbert Braddock of Philadelphia will officiate. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call tomorrow evening.
A native of Trenton, Mrs. Stephenson was the first pupil to be enrolled at the New Jersey School for the Deaf. She was a member of the Trenton Silent Club, National Association for the Deaf and All Saints Chapel for the Deaf of Trinity Cathedral.
Widow of R. Carl Stephenson, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Josephine VanCamp of Lakeside Park, Mrs. James E. Rochford of Yardville Heights and Mrs. Dorothy S. Cantwell of Robbinsville; a sister, Miss Florence Hattersley of Trenton; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
