Joshua HUNT Jr. 07 JUL 1785 NJ- 23 JUL 1875 WV
He married Sallie ROBBINS (1784 TN- 1864 WV).
Joshua HUNT JR in the 1810 Dunkard,Greene.Co,PA Census(p.22) was living next to his mother.
He moved with wife, Sallie ROBBINS, to the Maidsville, Monongalia County, Virginia(WV) area around 1819 where he farmed till death(BUR:Bethel Cem. Maidsville).
In a Monongalia Co., VA deed dated 24 MAR 1819, Joshua, then of Greene County, PA, purchased for $50.00 the one twelfth part interest in the 192 1/2 acre estate of Barney HANEY, decsd., from Robert & Nancy DAVIS of Monongalia Co., VA.
On 31 MAR 1837, Joshua HUNT purchased 93 acres of land in Dunkard Twp., Greene Co. PA jointly (probably in the role of a co-signer to help out these STEPHENS relatives) with his niece's husband, Hiram STEPHENS ( h/o Eliz. HUNT d/o Roger), from Christopher BREWER (Vol.8, p.255 LDS:#857248). The transaction involved a mortgage requiring payment of $250 01 APR 1839, $250 01 APR 1841, & $100 by 01 APR 1843. The land was bounded by that of Richard FURMAN, Daniel DONLEY, Daniel WILFORD, & Joseph WATSON.
On 07 MAY 1845, Christopher BREWER assigned the mortgage solely to Hiram STEPHENS for value received. (There was an entry to the Court of Common Pleas #34 on 02 SEP 1843 indicating that there may have been a legal dispute at this point.) Brewer may have removed to Westmoreland Co. PA.
(Harold HUNT uses different dates for Joshua Jr.: 17 JUL 1786- 23 FEB 1875.)
In his will, Joshua HUNT JR estimated his land holdings at approximately 87 acres in the Maidsville WV area.
