The October 8, 1673 marriage in Middletown, Connecticut of Josiah Adkins and Elizabeth Wethmer/Whitmore is recorded in Torrey's New England Marriages Prior to 1700. He gives Josiah Akins' date of death as 1690 and Elizabeth Wetmore's as 1700. Torrey notes "calls Nathaniel Stowe brother".

Josiah was apparently married first to Elizabeth Andrews (?) who died in 1669 (?). They had a son, Samuel, born in 1651.

Elizabeth Josiah's widow died about 1700 Josiah the father died Sep 12 1690

Children with Elizabeth Andrews (?):

1. Samuel, b 1851 or 1860. He married as her second husband Esther (Welch) Fenn of Milford, CT in 1693.
