Josiah Blanchard, husband of Sarah Blanchard, and son of Thomas and Rose (Holmes) Blanchard was a husbandman (farmer) and wheelwright (makes or repairs wagon wheels) in Andover, Massachusetts. According to entries in the Blanchard Family Bible, beginning in 1765, Josiah owned land and built a barn in Wilton, New Hampshire, where his sons would over-winter his sheep there. This is most likely how and when this branch of the Blanchard Family eventually settled in the Wilton area.
