About Josiah C Bowman
Born in Dauphin county, son of Thomas Bowman and Anna Woland. Josiah was the second of 9 children. Enlisted in the Civil War in Delaware County, Iowa, on November 21, 1863 at the age of 36; was taken prisoner December 14, 1864, near Memphis, Tennessee, and mustered out on January 5, 1865, at Clinton, Iowa.
