Note N131He settled in the northwestern part of Wells. ((The norwestern part of Wells where many of the Perkins families settled is locally known as Perkinsville)). This house stood on the east side of the present country road, a few rods north of the Boston and Maine Railroad (former Eastern Division).
By deed date Sept 17 1810, Josiah Perkins of Wells conveyed to his son James Perkins of Parsonfield all his property where he lived in Wells, consisting of 50 acres of land, a dwelling house, 1/4 part of a barn, also all his livestock, farming utensils, household furniture, and everyting of which he then possessed (York Deeds, vol 84, p. 162).

Note N5 Susanna (Allen) Perkins died at Wells, Dec 12, 1824,aged 89 years, 3 months. She left 9 children, 67 grandchildren, 112 great-grandchildren and 1 or 2 in the fifth generation. 36 of her descendants died before her. 1
