Mr. Joseph Wright, Aged Citizen Passes Away.
After suffering for several months Joseph Wright, aged 83 years, 10 months and 18 days died Sunday night at 10 o'clock at his home on West Broadway. Blood poison in his foot is the cause of his death. Several months ago he slightly injured his foot and from that day has not been clear of suffering and pain. The trouble originated in his great toe and soon spread over the body. He was one of the county's oldest citizens and no man was more widely known in the city and surrounding, although he was rather an unassuming and quiet gentleman. He was born in Warren county, Ky., March 11, 1821, moving to this county many years ago. He was a member of the Blalock Methodist church.
Besides a wife he is survived by the following children: - Rupert C. Wright, of Paragould, Ark.; Henry Wright of Dallas, Texas.; Sam Wright, of Missouri; Mrs. Georgia Nance, of Missouri; Mrs. Kate Slaughter, of the county and Mrs. Backus and Mrs. John Minton, of the city.
The funeral servies will be conducted from the residence Tuesday afternoon by Revs. Waterfield and Moody, followed by interment in the city cemetery at 2 o'clock. The out of town relatives have been notified and most of them are expected to reach here before the funeral.
