About Juan A. Sarenas
Juan Sarenas graduated from the UP in 1915 with a degree in law. He migrated to Davao in 1916 when his wife Concepcion became principal of the Davao Central Elementary School (now the Kapitan Tomas Monteverde Elementary School). He served as governor of Davao (1930 to 1933), as Assistant Secretary of the Interior (from 1937), as mayor of Davao City / representative to the National Assembly (1943 to 1944), and as representative to the 1st Commonwealth Congress (1945). He became judge of the Court of First Instance (CFI) in Cotabato in 1954.
