Judge Abel Pennington, III

Abel Pennington, Jr. was born July 8, 1797 in Greenville, Greenville Co., South Carolina. He married Elizabeth Bolling or Bowling (1794-1866). He died January 16, 1881 in Annville, Jackson Co., Kentucky and was buried in Moore Cemetery, Moore's Creek, Jackson County, Kentucky.

Children of Abel Pennington, Jr. and wife Elizabeth:

• Rachel Pennington Johnston (1817-1884), married Samuel Johnston (1808-1902).
• Levi Pennington (1821-1862), married Rachel Combs, died at Battle of Vicksburg

He helped his Father-in-law develop Perry County, and later became a Judge in Owsley Co.

The new stone was placed at burial site by Dallas & Mildred McGee and daughter Janice McGee .
