About Judith Eldridge
Judith Kennon was the daughter of Richard Kennon, Sr. and Elizabeth Worsham. She was probably born in the 1670-80's, and probably at Conjurer's Neck, Henrico County, Virginia, where most of her siblings were born. She married Thomas Eldridge, a local attorney. They had seven, possibly eight, children.
Judith died on October 14, 1759, in Sussex County, Virginia. She left a will, dated March 2, 1754, which was proven in Surry County on February 15, 1760. In her will she names daughter Sarah and son William, along with four grandchildren, Mary, Elizabeth, Judith and Ann Sterling Clack.
The daughter Sarah does not appear on her husband's will. It is possible that Thomas deliberately left Sarah off his will, especially if he had already given her a large dowry. It is more likely that Sarah was a daughter-in-law or other relative, who was especially close to Judith, and who, out of affection, was called daughter.
