Biography

Judith Gild\Guild\Guile\Gile\, daughter of Samuel Gild and Judith Davis was born April 1650 (differing versions: April 2 or April 5) in Haverhill, Massachusetts. Her father was one of the first settlers of Newbury, but did not remain there long. In 1640, he was one of the twelve who settled Pentucket, now known as Haverhill.

Joseph Page and Judith Guild/Gile married 21 June 1671 at Haverhill, Massachusetts. This marriage is also recorded in Amesbury, Massachusetts.

Judith died in Haverhill 28 April 1672 three days after her daughter Judith Page was born April 25, 1672.

In [Pope's] 'The Pioneers of Massachusetts' under Guild on page 203, it states, 'Samuel Gile, Haverhill, proprietor from May 18, 1642... [his] will dated 16 Feb 1683, probated March 21, following bequeathed to: John, Samuel, Ephraim, Sarah, and grandchild Judith PAGE.." More specifically: ".. I give to my grandchild Judith Page five pound to be paid by my executors.."
