About Juliana

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Probus_(consul_525)_

Flavius Probus Iunior (c. 495 – aft. 525) was a Consul of the Ostrogothic Kingdom in 525. He married Proba, daughter of Flavius Olybrius and Irene, a niece of Eastern Roman Emperor Anastasius I. With her he had a daughter, Juliana, who married Anastasius, the son of Anastasius Paulus Probus Sabinianus Pompeius Anastasius, consul in 517.

This note mixes up Anastatasius, Theodora’s grandson, who married Joannina, with Anastasius, son of the consul in 1517, who married Juliana:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anastasius_(consul_517)_

“Anastasius (c. 530 - aft. 571), married firstly to Joannina, only daughter of General Flavius Belisarius and wife Antonina,[4] a marriage that lasted for eight months when they were forced to separate by her mother and father, without issue, and married secondly aft. 548 Juliana (born c. 533), daughter of Flavius Anicius Probus Iunior (c. 495 - aft. 525), consul in 525, and wife and cousin Proba (born c. 510), and had by this second marriage:

Placidia (born c. 552), married to John Mystacon (c. 545 - 591),[citation needed] a magister militum per Orientem from 579 to his death in 591, and had issue Areobindus (born c. 550),

Cameron shows Juliana as the daughter of Probus and his wife Proba. [1]

Juliana was born about 533. Her father was Flavius Anicius Probus Iunior (c. 495 - aft 525), and her mother was Proba, born c. 510. [2]

Marriage to Anastasius

Juliana married Anastasius.

Her husband Anastasius is sometimes conflated with Anastasius, husband of Joannina. The marriage year of Joannina and her husband is known, and so the dating of Juliana and her husband Anastasius is sometimes arranged to fit with a marriage to Joannina.

Cameron in his Stemma of the House of Anastasius[1] shows their respective Anastasius' as two different people.

With the necessity of coordinating their dates removed, it is possible to redate Juliana and her husband.

Issue

  1. Aerobindus [1]
  2. Proba married Georgius [1]
  3. married John Mystacon [1]
