Katarzyna Piekarski

Katarzyna Catherine Frekouski Libera is the daughter of Anthony Libera and Rosalie Pestka. Katrzyna married Mathias Piekarski in 1856 in Poland. 9 children were known to this union: Hieronomus born in Poland/died an infant - Marcianne Mary Marianne Margaret and Laurent were also born in Poland. Joseph - Vincent - Margaret - Paul - Anthony and John were born in Ontario, Canada. Katarzyna with her husband, Mathias and two children: Marianne and Laurent immigrated from their home town, Wielle, Poland - they began their journey at the port of departure, Hamburg, Germany on the ship: Elbe and they arrived in Quebec in July 1859. Katarzyna was a weaver - a trade she learned from her mother: Rosalia who also immigrated from Germany to Canada - Both Katrzyna and Rosalia weaved together in their home. Rosalia lived with Katarzyna and Mathias until her death in 1881 at the age of 91 years.
