About Katherine Churchill / Kopankiewicz
Katherine "Kate" Dillon was born in Torrington Connecticut August 31st 1882. She was the daughter of James Dillon & Bridget ( Casey ) Dillon. She was the eldest of three siblings. She had a brother James Dillon Jr.who was born July 1884 & another brother Andrew who was born Nov 1895. Her mom died when she was a teenager. She lived with her father & bothers at 252 Riverside Ave.. a stones throw from Union Hardware. She married David Alvin Churchill , June 18th 1906. They lived on North Elm ( around the corner from the house she grew up in ). They had two children..Clyde & Edwin. Her first husband David Churchill died when she was 45 years old. Two years later, she married Max Kopankiewicz. They also lived on North Elm ( same house ? ) Max adopted the boys although they kept the Churchill name. She is listed in the 1951 Directory as a widow living at 26 Maple.

Mrs. Maximilian Kopankiewtz
Services for Mrs Kathryn Churchill Kopankiewtz, widow of Maximilian Kopankiewitz of 40 Longfellow Ave, Fairfield, who died Sunday, took place in St. Emory's Church with a requiem mass. Burial was in St. Francis cemetery,Torrington.
The celebrant of the mass was the Rev. Dennis Szocs, who also read the commital. Bearers were Clyde Churchill Jr. , Walter Fitzgerald, Ralph Freeman, Joseph Scaunyiczki , Frank Hunyadi and John Tassinarro
