About Katherine L Wall

I attended Blackburn College 1991-1993 which I studied General Catering & Restaurant - In which I got City & Guilds Level 1 in Catering & Restaurant. In 1995 I attended Chorley Enterprise Group and earned National Vocational Qualification Level 1 & 2 in Catering. From 1995 to 1997 I worked at a rest home for the elderly, in which I unfortunately caught Shingles( Adult Chicken Pox) from one of the Ladies living there.

At the time of my illness it was misdiagnosed as an ear infection, so by the time the Shingles had spread up the left hand side of my head I couldn't take the medication to clear it. After the Shingles had gone, it had caused my nerve endings on my head to overreact ( Neuralgia), I had tinnitus in my left ear and I was sleeping mostly over 20hrs only waking to eat, drink & bathroom.

On 23th Jan 1998 my GP diagnosed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, but between 2001-2002 my symptoms of

Bladder, Stomach, Bowel surfaced and then end of 2002 I started to get pain in my Coccyx ( tail bone) and spine- which make my condition more in line with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis ( My = Muscle algic=Pain Encephalo=Brain mye=Spinal Cord litis=Inflammation - Muscle Pain & Brain Spinal Cord Inflammation). Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis are grouped together as the same illness, unfortunately at the moment there is no cure for either illness. On the upside there is research (The Money is mostly being raised by ME cfs Charities as not much Government Funding) being done looking for Biomarkers in the Blood/DNA as ME cfs has been known to be inherited to children of sufferers and also they are looking into Viruses as this has been known to be one of the triggers of ME cfs. Hopefully in the near future MEcfs will have the recognition that it needs, as there are so many people who don't even know anything about this illness, so this is the reason why I am putting it on my profile to raise awareness( May is ME cfs Awareness Month) Anyway moving on =)

In Aug 2007 I moved with my Mum & Dad to East Riding of Yorkshire, the Countryside has been not only beneficial to myself but also to my Parents. I started researching my Family Tree in Jan 2008 and since then other then my love for playing Video Games ( I have an XBox One) Family Research has been what has kept me going through the tough times of being mostly housebound. In Oct 2010 we moved to a beautiful seaside Town still in the East Riding, we lived there for around 6 years, then in 2016 Mum & I moved again to a very small village still in East Yorkshire, although the Post Office hasn't updated the addresses of this area, it still has Hull as it's City even though that's 6miles away & a different County Council -sigh- the many mix ups in address. Anyway it is a beautiful (fairly) quiet area, which we love 😁
