About Katherine Tuttle
JOHN LANE (16__- Sept. 10, 1669) came from Wethersfield to Milford in or before 1640 with his wife Kattareen (?) who died before 1662, for in that year he married Mrs. Mary (_____) Camp (16__-1669), of New Haven, by whom he probably had no children.
His daughter Katareen (163_-167_) married Nov. 8, 1653, John Tuttle (1631-1683) of New Haven; their descendants are recorded in the Tuttle Family Book.

- I. JOHN TUTTLE, b. 1631; m. Nov. 8, 1653, KATTAREEN LANE (per. dau. of John, who was of Milford, 1640, and d. 1689, leaving good est.) He received house and lot in East Haven from his f. by deed 1661. He sold it next year to John Potter, blacksmith, and about same time sold, according to Dodd, to wid. of Wm. Ludington, land at Stony River, which was a part of his patrimony. In these conv. he is called jun. At court in N. H., Nov. 23, 1662, JOHN TUTTLE requested that he might have liberty to purchase some land of the Indians beyond Chestnut Hill. He d. Nov. 12, 1683. Inv. (english pound)79 adm. given to sons John and Samuel, the other chil. to have their parts as they came of age.

- JOHN Jut tic, son of William Tuttlo, was born in England in 1631, and came to this country with his parents in 1635. He received a house and lot in East Haven, by deed of his father, 1661, and sold it to John Potter the following year, and also, about the same time, sold land at Stony Biver, which was a part of his patrimony. Tn these conveyances he is called "junior." At the court in New Haven, Nov. 23, 1662, he requested that he might have liberty to purchase land from the Indians beyond Chestnut Hill. He married, Nov. 8, 1653. KATTAREEN, daughter of John LANE, of Milford, Conn., born 1630, died 1669, leaving a good estate. He died November 12, 1683. Children: 1. Hannali, born Nov. 2, 1655. 2. - III. Samuel T utile, son of John Tuttle, was born Jan. 9, 1659-60. He was a stone mason by trade, and a large land owner. He married (first) June, 1683, Sarah, daughter of Samuel Newniian, of New Haven. He married (second) Abigail, daughter of John and Mercy Frost and widow of Thomas Barnes. He and his wife, Sarah, joined the church in New Haven, 1692. He died between 1731 and 1733.
- His second wife was the mother of fifteen children, and her third of the estate was divided to the heirs of Samuel Tuttle, 1748. Children: 1. Mary, born Jan. 31, 1684-85. 2.
