"My father was married to my mother when he was 27 years old. Her name was Kezin Barrows. She died when I was so young that I remember but little about her, but I have been told that she was a women of fine ability and good disposition. She had five sons and five daughters, she died in childbed with the tenth child. Her sons names were James, John, Elijah, Abeezer & Obed. Her daughters were Comfort, Martha, Olive, Lydia & Kezin. Abeezer, Kezin & Obed did not survive their mother. Olive died soon after her mother. John was crazy from three years old till he died. He lived about 28 years, and was the most troublesome and expensive person to take care of that I ever see. " Elijah Hatch Jr
