About Kleinboy Vuma
Kleinboy Vuma (1943 - 2003)
Brief overview:
Kleinboy (60), along with his co-worker, Patrick Mabaza (58), on Wicus Bekker's farm in Steynsburg, was shot dead by another worker - Ngaziwa "Tinini" Mbodi (27) on 13th September 2003. The two-hour shooting spree with R4 military assault rifle left two men dead. After shooting three members of one family, he went door to door on each farm, firing about 100 shots at fleeing people and, driving a stolen car, even chased a woman carrying a baby. Mbodi then unleashed a spray of automatic fire at the town's top policeman, and calmly walked away into the hills. A manhunt for the gunman ensued, which involved two dozen police, 30 commando members and two police helicopters. Mbodi was captured and arrested, and remanded at the Steynsburg Magistrate's Court on Friday in connection with the shootings.
