Kyle Hancock, 80, of Galax, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011, in the VA Medical Center in Salem. He was born in Cripple Creek on Aug. 6, 1930, to Burrell and Ida Mae Linville Hancock. Survivors include his wife, Lena Robinson Hancock of Galax; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Clifford Mullins of Woodlawn; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Pam Hancock of Galax; four grandchildren and spouses; a great-granddaughter; brother and sister-in-law, Lonnie and Colleen Hancock of Pulaski; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held Saturday, July 9, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the Galax Church of God of Prophecy with the Rev. Titus Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery with military rites by Hillsville VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
