Lonnie Hackler Hancock, 90, of Pulaski, Va., passed away Monday, November 24, 2014.
He was born to the late Burrell and Ida Linville Hancock, February 2, 1924.
Lonnie is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mildred Colleen Hancock; daughters and son-in-law, Jerry and Brenda H. Akers, Angie H. Cole; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Dreama Hancock; grandsons and wives, Jerry and Carrie Akers, Joey Akers, Stevie Akers, Timmy and Yvonne Cole; granddaughters, Christy Cole, and Sara Hancock; great-grandchildren, Breanna, Bridgett, Evan, Katey, and Sophia Akers, Nathan and Beth Cole, Anna Linkous, Bayleigh Cole, Alyvia Cole; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Stevens Memorial Chapel, Pulaski. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski.
Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Pulaski, Virginia.

Lonnie Hackler Hancock, 90, went to be with the Lord at his home on Green Acres Drive, Pulaski, Va., on Nov. 24, 2014.
He was born Feb. 2, 1924, in Brush Creek, Va. He was a faithful member of the Church of God of Prophecy. He attended International Pentecostal Holiness Church where he faithfully played his music. He worked at Burlington Mills in Galax, Va., had done construction work on Jefferson Mills and retired as a certified self-employed plumber and electrician after 55 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Burrell and Ida Linville Hancock; brothers William, Henry, Garnett, Elmer, Charlie, Kenny, Kyle and Carlie Hancock; sisters Gracie Hancock Davis, Lula Hancock Dalton and Lilly Hancock; son James Hancock; daughter Nancy Hancock; son-in-law David Cole; grandson Terry Cole; and great-granddaughters Abbie Cole and Jamie Akers.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mildred Colleen Saunders Hancock; daughters and son-in-law Jerry and Brenda Hancock Akers, and Angie Hancock Cole; son and daughter-in-law Daniel and Dreama Hancock; grandsons and wives Jerry and Carrie Akers, Joey Akers and Stevie Akers, Timmy and Yvvonne Cole; granddaughters Christy Cole and Sara Hancock; great-grandchildren Breanna, Bridgett, Evan, Katey and Sophia Akers, Nathan and Beth Cole, Anna Linkous, Bayliegh Cole and Alyvia Cole; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, from the Stevens Funeral Chapel, with the Pastors Mary Morris, Andrew Dean, Larry Taylor, Dale Akers, Charles McPeak and George Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery, Pulaski. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday from the funeral home.
