Notes for Colonel Ichabod ROBIE
From Robey, P. 26: "He was taken captive by the same Indians who killed his father, 16 June 1691, and carried away. There are two traditions with respect to his return home. One is that he was ransomed; the other is that by the aid of a friendly Indian he escaped and returned home. He learned the art of tanning, and settled in Hampton Falls, and established his home on what has ever since been known as 'the Robie farm.'" He served as a representative from Hampton Falls for seven years, from 1735-1742. He also was a member of the committee that laid out home lots in Chester, NH.
