Lady Agnes Falconer, here treated, is the only daughter of Alexander, Lord Falconer of Halkerston. NRS: GD185/20/1 She was born before 29 January 1626, the date upon which her baptism was registered at Montrose in Angus, Scotland. 17 November 1681: Draft marriage contract between Alexander Ogilvie of Forglen, brother of Henry, Lord of Banff, with consent of Lady Agnes Falconer, Dowager of Banff, his mother, and Mary Allardes [Allardice], eldest daughter of the deceased Sir John Allardes of that ilk, with consent of Lady Mary Graham, her mother, whereby the said Alexander bound himself to infeft his future spouse in a liferent of 16 chalders of victual furth of the lands of the Kirktoune of Forglen, Meikle Rubrae and others in the parish of Forglen and sheriffdom of Banff, under reservation of a liferent to his mother, and an annualrent of 400 merks from the lands of Blacktoune and Muriehill pertaining heritably to the said George, Lord Banff, and on the other part the said Mary Allardes and Lady Mary Graham, bound themselves to pay 8,000 merks in tocher. 12 August 1682: Tack by Dame Agnes Falconer, lady dowager of Banff, to Alexander Pettie in ?Skein, of the garden of Forglen, with house and croft possessed by David Steill, gardener, and a piece of grass upon the Mains, for 3 or 5 years at her option, and he is to serve her with five firlots of neeps and carrots, and kaill, leeks, parsnips, syboes, lettuce and other herbs, my lady furnishing the seeds of such of these as do not grow at home, and to labour the said yard and raise and set the flower knot and furnish as many flowers as he can, and to send the trees timeously and plant and bring up young trees, keep the alleys and yard clean, etc. National Records of Scotland, Papers of the Abercromby Family of Forglen and Birkenbog, reference GD185/18/2

14 August 1682: Contract whereby Lady Agnes Falconer, Lady Dowager of Banff, liferenter of the underwritten lands, renounced in favour of Alexander Ogilvy, fiar of Forglen, her son, the lands called Meadow Heeds, East Syde and Meikle and Little Rubraes in the barony and parish of Forglen and sheriffdom of Banff, reserving to herself the multures of her liferent lands which remained astricted to the mill of Rubraes and tenant service of peat-leading, and the said Alexander bound himself to cause the tenants of the above lands to grind their corn at Rubraes, pay their multures and mill duties and lead peat, and to relieve his mother of part of the minister's stipend and public burdens, and pay for repairs to the kitchen and brewhouse of Forglen if desired by the said Lady Agnes.
