Lady Marjory Comyn is the daughter of Alexander Comyn, 6th Earl of Buchan and Elizabeth de Quincy.1 She married Patrick de Dunbar, 7th Earl of Dunbar, son of Patrick de Dunbar, 6th Earl of Dunbar and Cecil Fraser, before 1282.2

In April 1296 she was apparently of completely opposite loyalties to those of her husband since she held out in Dunbar Castle on behalf of the Scots against the besieging English till obliged to capitulate.2

He [Patrick de Dunbar] married, in or shortly before 1282, Marjory, daughter of Alexander (COMYN), EARL OF BUCHAN [SCT], by Elizabeth, daughter and coheir of Roger (DE QUINCI), EARL OF WINCHESTER. She held the Castle of Dunbar for the Scots till forced, 29 April 1296, to surrender it to Edward I. He died 10 October 1308, aged 66. [Complete Peerage IV:506-7 (transcribed by Dave Utzinger)]

He married before 1240, Cecily, daughter of John FitzRobert, Lord of Warkworth, Northumberland (d.1240),[5] [6] and had five known children:

Patrick IV, Earl of March, a 'Competitor'[7] (1242 - 1308), son and heir. Sir John de Dunbar, Knt.[8]
Sir Alexander de Dunbar, Knt.[9]
Agnes de Dunbar, who married Christell de Seton, 'in Jedburgh Forrest' (d.c1300)[10]
Cecily (or Cecilia) de Dunbar, who married Sir James Stewart, 5th High Steward of Scotland.
