About Lady Olive (Sharington) Stapleton
notes
From TALBOT, Sharington (1577-1642), of Lacock, Wilts. and Salwarpe, Worcs.
When only four years of age, [Sharington] Talbot succeeded his father to Salwarpe, which had come into the family during the reign of Henry VII. He lived, however, at Lacock near Chippenham with his mother [Olive] who, together with her sister Grace, wife of Anthony Mildmay, was a coheir of Sir Henry Sharington. She survived her husband, her son Sharington, and her second husband Sir Robert Stapleton, and lived at Lacock ‘in an old-fashioned style’, giving hospitality to many travellers including royalty, until 1646.
