HOME SADLY STRICKEN. Mrs. Elmer G. Christian Dies After Brief Illness on Wedding Anniversary.
The home of Elmer G. Christian of 2919 Oak Avenue, whose poems are well known to readers of The Mirror, is doubly saddened today when, not only on the day before christmas, but also on her tenth wedding anniversary, the wife and mother, Mrs. Laura K. Christian, was called by death.
Mrs. Christian died at 5.45 this morning of bronchial pneumonia, after an illness of less than a week. She was born in Salemville, Bedford county, March 25, 1876.
She is survived by her husband and parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. H. Stiffler of New Enterprise, and by two children, Fern and Mary, both at home. Also by these, brothers and sisters: Mrs. D.S. Brumbaugh of Altoona, Mrs. G. S. Pote of Baker's Summit and Mrs. F. S. Brumbaugh, Mrs D. W. Snyder, Mrs. A. R. Pressel. and N. R. and H. A. Stiffler, all of New Enterprise,
She was a consistent member of St. Paul's Lutheran church. Private funeral services at the home on Saturday afternoon. Interment in Carson Valley cemetery.
